Service Description

Through Safe Harbor, NEREN will provide subscribers with the necessary systems to establish an alternate web site and email presence in the case of a disaster. The basic service offering includes:
  • An allocation of secure rack space to accommodate a small rack mount server
  • A high capacity Internet connection to connect the servers to the Internet from the facility
  • A high capacity link to the home campus via NEREN and local State networks for server management
  • Remote Keyboard, Video and Mouse control capability for the server
  • Daytime "remote hands" services to reload servers, replace hard drives, or perform visual inspections
  • A tertiary Domain Name Server to host campus name records
  • Technical assistance in coordinating DNS, remote management and networking issues for the site.
  • Sharing of best practices for Disaster Preparedness
Neren members hold the option to lease secure space in the following allocations:
1/3 rack (15U), 1/2 rack (22U), full rack (45U)

The basic subscription agreement is three years from the effective subscription date and any one year extension period as agreed to by the member and NEREN. Subscribing members will be responsible to purchase their own server hardware.
